Reimagine. Renovate. Renew.
November 2023 Referendum
The Pequot Lakes School District is growing.
Increasing enrollment is great for our district, but challenging for our buildings. Our schools have reached maximum capacity, with insufficient space for programming and activities. In addition, aging infrastructure is putting pressure on our operating budget. These challenges are impacting student learning. To better provide a safe, versatile and engaging learning environment for our students, we need additional investments in our schools.
On Tuesday, November 7, 2023 residents in our district rejected a bond referendum and capital projects levy to renovate, expand and improve our school buildings and sites. Now, district leaders are exploring next steps to address the needs of our schools to best support our students.
The plan proposed to voters in November 2023 sought to:
Improve safety and security
Fix aging infrastructure
Update and expand school facilities
Enhance career and technical education
Remodel and expand outdoor spaces
These goals aim to transform our schools into safer and more supportive learning environments where all students can thrive and succeed.
